Alcohol Addiction, commonly called alcoholism, is variously defined by the medical community but is distinguished by the chronic abuse of alcohol in the face of consequences sufficiently destructive to deter most other people, but not the alcoholic
Meth Addiction
Meth addiction or sometimes known by it's full name, methamphetamine addiction or street name crystal meth refers to an addiction to a synthetic form of amphetamine. Meth is a powerful substance that is either swallowed, snorted, injected, or smoked.
Internet Addiction
For a condition that some don’t believe even exists, internet addiction goes by many names—net compulsions, internet addiction disorder, compulsive surfing, web dependency—none of which holds any official status. In fact, the contrary is true, as no credible medical association has been willing to embrace the condition.
Work Addiction
Work addicts, better known as workaholics, are people who seem to be constantly either at work or involved in some aspect of the work they do for a living. Similar to the word addiction, the term workaholic gets thrown around rather lightly, attached to anyone who someone perceives as working too much.
Teen Addiction
Teenagers are exposed to all the same drugs that adults use, but for a variety of reasons they are at a far greater risk to try, abuse and become addicted to them. Teens are far more likely to believe many drugs are safe, more likely to succumb to peer pressure or stress, and less likely to note their own addiction behaviors developing.
Cocaine Addiction
Cocaine has tremendous addictive potential, in part since its "high" or euphoria typically lasts no more than an hour before the user craves to use it again, leading to periods of bingeing during which the user might stay awake for a few days or more. This is often followed by a "come down", a period of acute dysphoria and depression.
Ritalin Addiction
Methylphenidate, better known by the trade name Ritalin, is a central nervous system stimulant typically prescribed for such disorders as ADHD, ADD and narcolepsy, among others and is generally one aspect of a wider treatment plan involving therapy and education.
